Hendrych, Faculty of Metallurgy and Materials Engineering, VŠB – Technical University of Ostrava, Ostrava, Czech Republic This article analyzes the eff ect of zinc in the blast furnac e process and it also analy sis its contents in the input and output raw materials. The results obtained in the long-term research project will be used as data here. The removal of zinc from the input raw materials is very diffi cult already in the sinter production stage. This is due to its uniform distribution in the raw materials, but also due to the fact that it does not transfer into gas phase during the sintering process. The content of Zinc compounds was experimentally measured in the lining. The quan ty of penetrated Zinc is diff erent in diff erent parts of the blast furnace. As demonstrated by the research, zinc repeatedly enters the blast furnace process, which leads to its circula on.

Technical Effects of Air Cooled Blast Furnace Slag on Asphalt Mixtures
Air cooled blast furnace slag is a by product made of gradually air cooled molten blast furnace slag and is often stored in stockpiles near the iron mills and usually occupy a wide area around the iron mills. From this perspective the further use of these materials can have its own merits. Air cooled blast furnace slag can be used in asphalt mixtures because of their proper frictional propertie...
متن کاملThe Study of Ion Adsorption by Amorphous Blast Furnace Slag
In this study, the blast furnace slag was used as absorbing bed and then, its ionic adsorption was studied. For this reason, various experimental parameters such as pH, contact time and the primary ion concentration were investigated. The remaining concentrations of ions such as; Mn2+ and Fe2+ in water were measured by atomic adsorption spectroscopy. The chemical and p...

This paper analyzes how feasible it is to use electric arc furnace slag as coarse aggregate, and blast furnace dust as fine aggregate in the manufacture of hot asphalt concrete for roads. Three mixtures were designed using the Ramcodes methodology, the M1 mixture of control with conventional materials, the M2 mixture replacing 50% and the M3 mixture replacing 100% of the conventional aggregates...
متن کاملAbsorption of Lead Ions by Various Types of Steel Slag
Steel slags are the by products of steel industries, which forms during reduction process of iron melting. The chemical composition of it changes depending to the melting procedure. Its mineralogical composition also varies based on the cooling procedure. Two different types of steel slag were used as absorbing bed for various concentrations of Pb2+ ions in the form of lead chlor...
متن کاملA KINETIC STUDY ON THE CARBOTHERMIC REDUCTION OF ZINC OXIDE FROM ELECTRIC ARC FURNACE DUST
In the present study, reduction of zinc oxide from the pellets made of steelmaking electric arc furnace dust has been investigated. Effects of such parameters as the type of carbon material (graphite, coke and charcoal) as well as time and temperature on the reduction reaction have been examined. The reduced (dimensionless) time method was applied to perform a kinetic analysis of the system. Ex...
